And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, for those who have been called according to his purpose. – Romans 8:28
My name is Alicia Jammer, and I am a divorced single mother of three amazing sons: Kaden, Kaleb and Kasen (ages 9, 7 and 6, respectively).
For quite a long time I was fortunate enough to be a stay-at-home mom; however, my divorce led my sons and I to relocate back home to Texas, where I felt I could best figure out what our new lives would look like.
I wanted and needed to work in order to provide for my children; however, I chose to wait a year before returning to the workforce. My thoughts were that by doing so it would allow my sons to adjust to the move.
Wanting to be available as much as possible for my boys, I pursued a career in real estate so I could enjoy working flexible hours. I’ll never forget the day I told my kids it was time for me to return to the workforce.
Kaden, my oldest son, had many questions. “Mom, why do you want a job? I don’t want you to work. Are you still going to come to the school when we have class parties?”
With so many questions, I realized in the moment my son understood that being a parent is a full-time job, one I’d held since the day he was born.
Learning to achieve balance in my life by juggling working as a licensed realtor and continuing my role as a single mom, my road to self-discovery has been interesting, to say the least! For this reason, I’ve decided to begin blogging in order to share my successes, joys and struggles as a single mom.
Before I close, a few additional details about me: I love the Lord, my family, food, fitness and all things real estate.
Thank you for joining me on my journey!
