Message Titled: “A Scarlet Letter for the Redeemed”
Taken from Psalm 107
So what does it mean to be redeemed? To be redeemed is to be forgiven and freed from our sins. Redemption means God has rescued you. Everyone is in need of redemption because we have all sinned and fall short of the glory of God.
The foundation of this particular Psalm is the faithfulness and power of GOD. Always give GOD thanks and praise! He is a faithful and merciful GOD. The common theme verse after verse is that when you are in distress cry out to the lord through prayer, praise and worship. His response will deliver you from your destructions. Not only will he deliver you, lead you to the right place but he will provide a safe place for you to dwell in. When God gives us direction or instruction and we reject it, we are actually rejecting healing. Always know that he is the provider for our soul which entails our emotions, will and intellect.
God knows exactly what we need to hear, when we need to hear it. He will send people to deliver his word because his word brings healing. Have you ever been in church and you were going through something, and the pastor delivered a sermon that hit right at home? It has happened to me many times. Have you ever seen something on social media that reflected something you were going through? There are many days when I am on social media and someone posts something and it’s exactly what I needed to see. I always think to myself, is this a sign?
We are all sinners, but how you handle yourself is what matters. I haven’t always had the relationship I have with God now, but in building my relationship with God I have learned that there is power in prayer. That’s how I choose to handle situations that come up. I go straight to the LORD for him to direct me and that alone stabilizes me.
What I have realized is that there is no limit on how many times you can call on him. He just wants you to come to him and why wouldn’t you? After all, he is the one person that will never leave nor forsake you and you can tell him anything. That’s the kind of best friend I want in my life. Just remember, redemption isn’t something that happens once, he continually redeems us!
Do you have any examples you would like to share, I would love to hear them?
